Althaïr Exclusif opens noticeably richer than the original, with amaretto and saffron immediately surrounding the bright bergamot. The amaretto gives the opening a smooth almond-like, almost liqueur-soaked sweetness while saffron adds warmth and texture.

The heart pushes firmly into gourmand territory. Praline, cinnamon and cardamom create a warm, creamy sweetness, while orange blossom prevents the composition from becoming overly dense. It retains the recognizable Althaïr DNA but feels more concentrated, more decadent and substantially darker.

The drydown is built around an intensified dose of Bourbon vanilla, supported by guaiac wood and ambrox. Parfums de Marly specifically describes Exclusif as taking the original Althaïr and enriching it with saffron and amaretto while increasing the vanilla intensity. 

Compared with original Althaïr, the difference is meaningful rather than simply a stronger concentration. Original Althaïr uses mandarin and elemi in its opening and has a brighter aromatic quality; Exclusif substitutes amaretto and saffron, moves praline into the heart and adds ambrox to the base. The result is sweeter, warmer, darker and more gourmand.
